REMTON Internship Opportunities Access Procedure for Mentees

Purpose
To provide mentees with structured guidance, preparation, and support in securing and maximizing internship opportunities, while strengthening partnerships with industries willing to host interns.

Industries Interested in Partnering with REMTON

REMTON actively works with or seeks partnerships in the following industries for internship opportunities:

1. Banking & Financial Services – Commercial banks, investment firms, microfinance institutions, insurance companies.
2. Information & Communication Technology (ICT) – Software development firms, IT consultancy, telecom companies.
3. Media & Communications – TV and radio stations, publishing houses, advertising and PR agencies.
4. Hospitality & Tourism – Hotels, resorts, event management companies, travel agencies.
5. Agriculture & Agribusiness – Farms, food processing companies, agritech start-ups.
6. Manufacturing & Production – Consumer goods companies, factories, assembly plants.
7. Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals – Hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centers, pharmaceutical companies.
8. Education & Training – Schools, vocational institutes, training centres.
9. Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) – Youth empowerment, health, education, environment.
10. Engineering & Construction – Civil engineering firms, architecture consultancies, construction companies.
11. Energy & Environment – Renewable energy companies, oil and gas firms, environmental consultancies.

Process Flow for Internship Opportunities

Step 1 – Internship Opportunity Request (Mentee Side)
1. Mentee submits Internship Request Form online, via email, or in person.
2. Details required:
• Field/industry of interest.
• Duration & preferred start date.
• CV/resume.
• Any preferred organizations.
3. Acknowledgment within 3–5 working days.

Step 2 – Career Needs Assessment
1. Profile Review: CV, academic background, skills, past experience.
2. Goal Alignment: Match internship goals with career objectives.
3. Placement Matching: Identify relevant partner industries or companies.

Step 3 – Internship Preparation
1. Skill Enhancement: Recommend short courses or workshops.
2. Application Readiness: CV & cover letter review.
3. Interview Coaching: Mock interviews if required.

Step 4 – Partnership & Placement Process
For Mentees:
1. REMTON submits applications to relevant partner companies.
2. Coordinates interviews and onboarding requirements.

For Partner Organizations:
1. Partnership Interest Submission: Company contacts REMTON via form, email, or call.
2. Partnership Agreement: Define duration, roles, responsibilities, and number of interns.
3. Intern Profile Matching: REMTON sends suitable candidates for review.
4. Selection & Onboarding: Partner selects candidates, REMTON supports orientation.

Step 5 – Internship Monitoring & Support
1. Check-Ins: Regular progress tracking with mentee and host organization.
2. Mid-Term Review: Address challenges, provide guidance.

Step 6 – Completion & Evaluation
1. Exit Interview: Mentee shares learning experience.
2. Certification: REMTON issues completion certificate.
3. Future Opportunities: Career advice for post-internship employment or further studies.

Roles & Responsibilities

Mentee: Apply on time, commit to professional conduct, complete all tasks.
Mentor: Guide and prepare mentees for application and placement.
REMTON Admin: Manage partnerships, coordinate placements, monitor progress.
Partner Organization: Provide mentorship, work experience, and feedback on interns.

Documentation

• Internship activities logged in the Mentee Development Log.
• All partnerships recorded in REMTON’s Internship & Partnership Database.
